I see. In popular culture Nepalis are portrayed as East/Southeast Asian looking so that's what I assumed.

are you thinking of the mountain climbers like the sherpas? Nepal if anything is more indo aryan than tibetid(east/se asian).

I honestly see him as either Indo-Iranid or Iranid for me. He also seem to have an Armenoid look on him as well. In fact, he can pass in the middle east quite well. His face doesn't scream south asian for me.

It's a pretty diverse country. There are people that look like Gurkhas & people that look like him, & others with different phenotype. He's likely Brahmin, so about 12% of the country.

Actually, recruitment of Gurkhas was/is extremely biased towards East Asian/ Tibetid groups (9 Tibetid to 1 Indo-Aryan unit in British Gurkha). Nepal also has a great deal of other diversity than Gurkha soldiers.

Yeah, Indo-Aryan speakers are more than Tibetid speakers in Nepal but some Indo-Aryan groups also show an East Asian shift. So, whether Nepalis are more East Asian or South Asian looking is still debatable.
