The thing with that music is that all lyrics are sexually colored, sometimes even very open and direct, look of singer is look of the porn stars and they have very cheep style when talks about clothes. And they are idols to young girls and promoters of social values... Unfortunately. Ceca is only one of those singers and they all destroy Serbian society more and more, started in 90's and continuing even today.

It's pop music (pop as popular), nobody anywhere considers it as poetry, it sings about man and woman and their relationship often with stupid words. This trend in pop music is apparent everywhere in western world, the quality of songs diminishes with age, so it isn't only Serb exclusiveness.

That music is considered to be folk, not pop here... And people really see it as their national music and i'm bothered by that. It doesn't have any connection with real Serbian folk music... it is mix of Turkish melodies and some techno.
Anyway, Mylene Farmer also sing some kind of pop, but her music can't even compare with Ceca and similar to her. Started with lyrics.
