Because of different origins/geographic locations.

2 guys scoring double digit SSA which is unheard of in West Asia. Clearly mongols didn’t wipe out all the inhabitants of Mesopotamia because there is a lot of Zanj ancestry remaining. It’d have been wiped out otherwise.

What is that? Academic Iraqis? From what study?

EDIT: I see few obscure samples. Mostly south Iraq but SSa seems much to high. On Anthrogenica also didn't know from what source they were. I stick to with Gedmatch Iraqi samples:)
Probably someone send him his family samples. Should be some SSA slave descendant not real Iraqi. Nothing important.

Iraqi:SIRQMUS01 and Iraqi:SIRQMUS03 are obviously the same person(exact coordinates), something must've gone wrong there.

I think the guy who provided these samples wanted all kinds of people in Iraq to be included, which is why there's an Assyrian an a Mandean in there. But I'm more interested in the Muslims tbh.

Interesting.

I guess the country of Iraq should have been carved up based on groups historical origins.

Iraq seems to share much with Syria in that it is a multiethnic country with a decent amount of diversity. Less homogenous than a country like Lebanon.

It's not what I got wrong but Davidski in that case.

Iraq is much more diverse than Syria. People in Syria from the same geographic region within the country will score similar to one another for the most part. There's a Mesopotamian shift to the east, Anatolian shift to the north, and Arabian shift in the far south with the western core being the most Levantine as I understand it. Iraq is different in that people from the exact same city or town can have wildly different results. No idea why but it could be due to the tribal factor.

Kurds form their own homogenous group.
Chaldeans form their own homogenous group.
Iraqi Turkmens and Arabs on the other hand are very diverse.

By the way Sabians I found out are Mandaeans. Mandeans seem to plot slightly more closely with Iranian and Kurdish Jews than Assyrians, strangely. The two groups share no common recent origin but since lower Mesopotamia is located further east than upper Mesopotamia(where Assyrians lived), the native inhabitants might have been more eastern/Iran_N shifted. Makes sense.

3 of those Assyrian individuals are mixed. 2 of them seemingly with Armenians and one can be modeled as half Kurdish. This may explain some of those disparities with Mandeans.

They are connected linguistically, or rather they were.
All Eastern Mizrahi Jews descend from Iraqi/Babylonian Jewry who spoke Babylonian Aramaic until they shifted to Arabic sometime after the Islamic invasion. Mandeans of Iraq also shifted very recently to Arabic from their native neo Mandaic. Mandaic and Babylonian Aramaic were very close, both emerging side by side in south-central Iraq. I’m not surprised at all that they are so close, despite minimal to no contact between the two groups.

Possibly, but it seems to be the case on gedmatch as well.

Eh, I don’t know about that. If it were the case then Iraqi Jews would be their closest match but they’re not. Iraqi Jews shift a little toward the Levant. Iranian/Kurdish Jews are a bit Eastern shifted after possible admixture with locals and that Levantine base of the original Jewish population is sort of offset, making them closer to Mandaeans.

What you mean if that's the case? It's history, you can't deny their close ties to Babylonian Jewry.
He is close to all Eastern Mizrahi Jews, the difference is small
