Tajik G25 matches (FULL): http://g25vahaduo.genetics.ovh/
Kushans are their closest ancient match. They are often said to be of Turkic origins. I think Turanid portraits of Kushan elites are a good proof of this. Autosomal distance matches confirm this.

182 Uthmankhel
130 Pashtun
52 Yusufzai*
*Tarkalani (or Tarkani) Pashtuns are considered of Turkic origin and belong to the same Sarbani tribe as Yusufzai. Both have extreme high Steppe_MLBA values (~ 50%).

325 Turkmen*
30 Karachay*
29 Turkish
2 Uzbek
*Turkmens are closest to Pamiri Tajiks on official PCA.
*Karachays have the same "-lany" ending in first names, it means "son of" in Turkic. Yagnobi Tajiks are known for the highest Steppe_MLBA value in Central Asia (~ 65%) and are closest to Karchays distance matching.

*Italian linguist V. Pisani (1974, p.14) assumed that "Protosanskrit was the language of a ruling class composed of Turkic-speaking riders of the southern Russian steppes and priests of Caucasian origin." The same view is shared by the German linguist K. H. Schmidt (1980, p.94). Considering Scytho-Alan matches with mostly Nakhs and Karachays, there is no reason to deny Steppe_MLBA's non-Turkic nature. Highest values of it is found among Gagauz, Chuvash and Tatars (~ 76-83%), see Carlos Quiles map.

*Not significant enough to claim a Indo-Iranian origin.
