Good times, but a considerable part of them arrived from Romania. They always come to offer support during such events.
In this case, it even ended with a diplomatic incident between Moldova and Romania, as the Romanian ambassador was expelled from the country by being accused of organising this revolution.

Yes, Moldovans are the same people as Romanians, although they have slightly more East Slavic influence than average Romanian.

If it weren't for them our grapes would still be bulldozed by Rosskomnadzor. Our officials deserve the harshest pressure possible from the citizens. Otherwise they are too focused on stealing from us and building their mansions and buying Porsches worth $1000 on paper, while the rest of the populace wonders why they live like shit compared to neighbours.
There are few things that I hate more than the traditional Moldovan proverb "Pe capul plecat, sabia nu-l taie.".

I agree what they are East Slavic influenced, but they are too dark as a group to pass as Ukrainians, most of them have brown and dark brown hair, some of them even black. And you are right about brachycephaly, alpinoid influence is very visible, I am surprised how homogenous they look because of this.

Middle way between Romanians and East Slavs (Ukrainians). Ethnically they are Romanian (by language, traditional culture), genetically they probably have 2 or 3 times more Slavic ancestry than those in Muntenia... There are similar variations between extremes of same ethnic group all around Europe: guys from Switzerland would stick out in Schleswig, even though both are ethnic German.

That thread is not very representative. This one have entirely ethnic Moldavians, mostly students of both genders. Here is seen the real picture of local diversity. Is very hard to find on internet such pictures with crowds with only ethnic Moldavians. Even these pictures, it took me some time to find them. Sucks only, that they are related to this bad event from April 2009, is basically same scenario what is happen now in Belarus.

Mostly North Pontid and Neo-Danubian types. Almost all of the resemble East Slavs in features, but with considerably more dark pigmented types.
