How do i do the haplogroup predictor thing? and what is Y-STR how do i know what my Y-STR value is?http://www.hprg.com/hapest5/

Its kind of useless.

Because if you want to know your STR values, you need to test the STR.
23andMe does not. FTDNA does.

But then again, if you test with either of these companies, you already know your haplogroup. So, why using it?

One thing it was used for was... King Tutanch Amuns Haplogroup.

The scientists did not tell it. But someone made a screenshot where the computerscreen was visible in the dokumentation. It was a list of Tuts STR and he typed them into a haplogroup predictor and got: R1b

This one is better http://members.bex.net/jtcullen515/haplotest.htm as it will give you location detail of where your haplogroup is likely from.

Only works with STR test though.
