ALPINIZATION

An evolutionary process or tendency involving reduction, brachycephalization and infantilization, possibly an adaption to a low energy, sedentary existence. Some alpinized or partially alpinized Europid populations (Alpinoids), are Alpinid, Borreby and Gorid.

Now, in today's day and age, one would think that there would be an increase in Alpinization due to the sedentary life of the majority of the population due to the heavy reliance on technology and easier ways of life, however, what allows the non-brachycephal strains to exist still in such a sedentary world?

I'm currently trying to locate an article I read on the subject that had to do with diet, it stated something along the lines of that traits similar to Alpinization are influenced heavily by diets and climates, the dietary issue seems a bit easier to grasp, however in regions where climates do not reach "extremes" why is there such a diversity amongst phenotypic traits? Also curious as to whether or not anyone else saw this article or one of similar nature.
