She may have asian admixture. She's very pretty, though.

Definitely Europoid influences, whether recent (European colonials?) or more ancient (Aethiopoid or Semits directly) is hard to tell.

Fairly progressive traits and such a nasal brige, profile, like in the last picture, is not even that common among the more typical Aethiopids, but rather those with additional Europoid.

So definitely Europoid admixture of some kind.

Actually there is a certain inheritance pattern if crossing West Africans (Sudanids) or basic Negrids of the East (Kafrids) with long faced Europids, usually the longer face and more Europiform traits prevail on the longer run, especially in the higher level mixed ones, which come together deu to partner selection again - quite often.

So Aethiopoid-like appearances are common in mixing certain Europid and Negrid strains.

In the Caribbean, there are some "elite mulatto strains" which are obviously more Aethiopiform...

She doesn't really look Near Eastern though, so any Europid admixture of the Aurignacoid spectrum would suffice I guess.

Not really. I duno how she looks w/o all that makeup, but even though i don't generally appreciate black females *at all*, she does look quite beautiful in these photos. Not a typical Negroid by far.

she is only beautiful considering the African standards, not Europeans. Anecdotally, before she winning the jury was asked "for when a black miss universe?" . No comment

No, she is a mix of negroid and caucasoid.

The Portuguese didn't trusted in the full blooded negros, indians, amerindians, etc ... because they had their own people and were loyal to their tribes.

And because we had few people to colonize the whole extension of our big empire, we had an official policy of making alliances with the local kings and creating mixed breeds as a way to colonize the territory with people with a blood bond with the Portuguese people which were more faithful, friendly, ...

In the south, in the capital and the littoral regions of Angola there are more mulattas than in the rest of the country because of the portuguese colonization.

Europeans never win Miss Universe anyway, it's mostly reserved for Latin Americans. Miss Netherlands made the final 15 or so, along with Ukraine, France, Portugal and Kosovo.

Miss Netherlands has an ideal waist-hip ratio, though her breasts look surgically enhanced.

When did that happen? I thought the Cape Verde islands were not inhabited before the Portuguese arrived in the 1400s, bringing the slaves they acquired from West Africa (Guinea coast, called slave coast at that time, I think) with them.

Die the Portuguese enslave these Middle Easterners/Northeast Africans and bring to Cape Verde? When did this happen?

I think there were 3 previous black miss universe before (Botswana - 1999, Trinidad and Tobago - 1977 and 1998), so I don't know if this would have influenced them. And, considering the 10 finalists, she really was the most beautiful. I think that Miss Venezuela was more beautiful, but I think there's a bias against them, since they won so many of these pageants already.

Washington, Sept 17 (ANI): Controversy hounds the 2011 Miss Universe pageant after new allegations that the winner, Miss Angola Leila Lopes, used false documents to enter and win a qualifying contest in England.

The Argentinian newspaper Infobae published a report Thursday alleging that Lopes was unfairly allowed to participate in a Miss Angola competition for Angolan citizens living in the UK, even though she has never lived outside of Angola, reports ABC News.

The report claimed that a man named Charles Mukano helped falsify documents identifying Lopes as a student of business management at a British school, enabling her to enter and win the contest there.

Infobae cites reports in Angolan media that allege that Mukano may have even bribed judges in England to ensure Lopes' win.

Lopes was the first Miss Universe from her country, but came under attack in the following days by Miss France and fans of Miss Phillipines as undeserving of the crown. (ANI)
