Studies show that people who are good at video games have a higher I.Q and that people who play video games exercise parts of the brain that help them learn and retain memory. That is why video games used to be played by mostly nerds. Going outside and and philosophizing is for normies. Real math robots sit inside all day.

Doing math and reading books is probably better for building 'smart neuronal pathways' than playing video games.

Also, while what you say might be true unfortunately posting only two internet URLs does not prove it. Books, periodicals and websites would prove it much more so than just websites alone. Also, the nypost is almost like a tabloid but sometimes they have good stuff I guess.

Anyway, if it is true then its only for certain games or more for certain games. I say your brain is better off doing advanced math and reading books and I could be wrong but I doubt it.

Anyway, regardless, playing video games plays into the hands of the 'elites'. You want to be a rebel ? Certain elite intellectuals, led by Mark Zuckerberg’s sister, have noticed that some young autodidacts have taken to reading the Great Books and listening to classical music. The elites see this as a threat. Being a rebel isn't snorting meth, riding a Harley Davidson and beating some random dude up and going to jail. Being a rebel in 2020 is doing something such as reading an Arthur Schopenhauer philosophy book while listening to Beethoven or Bach etc..

A game like Space Invaders is very math oriented though, you basically play on a grid and have to calculate which row to hit as to not be overwhelmed.

I know what you mean but it's simplistic spatial math compared to something such as cohomological topological space. Your brain would get a super work out with the latter.
