Medieval North-West Slavic averages

I averaged the results of samples with Slavic results from the Viking study, but only those from the Baltic Sea area (including North Poland).

And this average will be called VK_NorthwestSlavic (it can probably represent well Medieval Slavic tribes from the so called Lechitic group).

Sandomierz, Cracow and Czersk VK samples are also Slavic but not from Northern Poland (maybe except the one from Czersk, but this one is low quality).

And East Slavic samples - such as VK160 and VK541 - were also excluded from this average (just like South Polish ones).

VK274 and VK254 look like Southern Slavs (Slovenian and Croatian respectively). Or they could be some weird mixes.

VK542 from Chernigov looks like a southern-shifted but still Northern Slav (Carpathian Rusyn or Slovak for example).

Do you think any other samples from the Baltic Sea region were also Slavic? Or did I already include all of them?

VK454 also looks Slavic IMO.

The ones with >50% "Polish-like" & >80% "Polish"+"Finnish" but <25% "Finnish" in Table S6, cluster with modern North Slavic populations. Makes sense.

Interesting that due to the lack of "Lithuanian-like" component used in the analysis by scientists, Balts score "Polish"+"Finnish", including >30% "Finnish".

This proves further Albanians aren't that Slavic influenced, only 36 match, which is roughly same as Iberia for example or parts of Italy. This is why we cannot take those Ancient Balkan samples serious by their autosomal so far.


What proves further an Illyrian origin to me is the Vlach-Albanian symbiosis and that the Vlach-Romanians-Aromanians seem to of come somewhere from the central Balkans / Dardania from Romanised Illyrians where they lived next to Albanians. Some of them also match Albanians by Y-DNA I saw now posted on another forum, some J2b2 clades match Albanians with a TMRCA roughly within the last 1000 years, that's supposedly around when Romanians migrated into Romania or when the Vlachs split. The ones who aren't as Slavic influenced also cluster like Albanians. There are also Ancient-Greek loan words in Albanians which shows there was a pre-Roman contact with ancient Greeks while Latin influence suggests an origin north of the Jirecek. Which would roughly mean a region of Dardania / Northern Albania.
