In modern times its habitation starts after mid-18 th century.
From the 2nd half of the 18th century and onwards, oral tradition and archival material are preserved which testify that Fourni was repopulated, initially by Patmians and Dodecanesians , to which new inhabitants from Ikaria, Samos, Cyclades , Asia Minor, Crete and mainland Greece were quickly added.
