View Full Version : underrated genetic service

So, most Genetic services for your ancestry are trash or 'politically correct' ; in regards to the latter they thrown in politically correct stuff such as : you are part Amerindian, Papuan, Somoan , SSA etc.. etc..

Then a lot of them are flat out wrong because they pander to your preconceived notions of 'who you are'. I'll throw in major services such as AncestryDNA in here but I haven't done 23andme so I can't comment on that except I know they probably try to throw in politically correct non-European admixture too including ashkenazi Jewish since it is owned by Jews (talk about bias).

Then there are amateur calculators like Eurogenes (including G25) and Dodecad which are retarded Polack and retarded WOG 'science'.

So that brings me to the underrated sequencing.com which has two applications for genetic ancestry I find most useful :

1.) Genetic ancestry with Haplogroups (I already knew my haplogroups but it was nice to double check them). If you did 23andme it might be nice to compare the results since the admixture categories are similar here.

2.) Map My Genes

1. Tells me my Y haplogroup which is common in Ireland/Scotland and Cornwall England and it tells me I'm 100% European (no 1% SSA like AncestryDNA says) : 71% British/Irish , 18% French/German (there are French/German genes in Southern England BTW), 8% broadly NorthWest European and 3% broadly Eastern European or Russian (some small stuff left over from Prussianism most likely from my ancestry from Alsace-Lorraine).

Now 2.) Map My Genes tells me this :

https://i.postimg.cc/gJpW0x8v/mapmygenes.png

^ My biggest matches are in Cornwall England, Argyll-Bute Scotland, Norway , Iceland and to a lesser extent Kent England and Orkney Scotland. I logically ignore Iceland and Norway for various reasons including Iceland has significant ancient British genes and so does parts of Norway unlike Denmark, Sweden and Finland generally speaking.

I was classified as Atlantid here and betaface AI says I'm about 73.5 % Atlantid so being mostly Atlantid that would tend to put me more towards the West sides of Scotland and England so it looks like I might a mix of Cornish/Devon area English and Scottish and that I could pass in Wales/Cornwall/Devonshire and certain parts of Scotland where there are Atlantids probably Glasgow and Argyll-Bute or something like that.

It's crazy that these kinds of services and reasoning are not more common here instead of amateur bullshit !:picard2:

As far as Eurogenes, Dodecad, MDLP, genoplot, DNAGenics etc... that are popular here : don't believe the hype !

I trust Shenzhen science. 所有测试均不及WeGene!这是测试的未来!其他测试是由智商低的弱者进行的。

The "political correctness" angle is a speculative conspiracy theory and forum post fluff. Most Americans have trace SSA because we quite literally share our country with them and the odds of having a distant SSA ancestor isn't 0. Especially for southerners. Nobody is telling a Lithuanian that they're part SSA for political correctness' sake.

Wegene has never worked for me, I can't even sign up, it gives me errors and some weird text.. can anyone, literally anyone here help me? I wanted to try it so long ago.

Yup. Similarily, Europeans share(d) a continent with Ashkenazi Jews. All it takes is a single Ashkenazi to convert to Christianity and marry out 200 years ago for ~7 generations of European Christians and up to a thousand people (depending on family sizes) to have trace Ashkenazi. Retarded assertion by OP.

I think this is exactly what happened in my family. I have Ashkenazi traces, 1.2% on Myheritage, 2% on FTDNA and almost 4% on DNA.LAND. My DNA matches are full of Ashkenazis (and Slavs of course). After Israel, Hungary has the most people with some Jewish ancestry, or maybe it's the 3rd after the USA. On G25 I consistently get some Sardinian, someone said that can be the trace of Jewish blood.

I get Ashkenazi with MyHeritage and no where else. I did get 1% on Ancestry years ago but lost all the interesting small bits. :) My mother also get's it on MyHeritage but I've noticed a load of Irish also get it in small amounts. I'll be interested in what happens whenever MyHeritage updates.

I get 2.8% on MyHeritage and my mother gets 4%.

MyHeritage is the exception, OP was referring to 23andme. MyHeritage is a horrible DNA testing company insofar as ancestral results are concerned, though I don't know that they purposefully insert various other ethnicities to make the map more colourful or (more likely) simply have a less conservative algorithm.

Not quite sure how you'd acquire some trace Ashkenazi over in Eire haha but who knows, could be real.

There is Jewish people in Ireland. There was even a couple of Jewish Lord Mayors of Dublin but yes I agree that it is not likely that I have real Ashkenazi ancestry. I'd be happy if I did because I would find it interesting.

Oh, of course. Just very few that far back for any Irish folks to have trace ancestry today. Our sixth President was the (Northern) Irish Chaim Herzog.

This was a wonderful app which picked up my DNA all over Russia especially some large matches in the far east and matches even in Iran.

Regarding this test it wasn't very accurate for me. They are also called Sequencing.Com.

Yes everywhere but Ireland. :) The places marked in Britain are Orkney Islands and Argyll and Bute.

I have emailed them letting them know they missed out on the country where all my known ancestry is from. :)

I also tried it, out of curiosity, I'll post my results soon. It's not so bad imo :)
