Peterski may be obsessed about Slavic contributions among Germans, but as far as there is correct data provided it is to be welcomed. The details are interesting.
However, it´s known, abt. half of German people emerging area was once inhabited by Slavs and by the merging of them and old-German settlers there emerged a number of new East German tribes. This fact is known in Germany ever since and it´s part of Eastern German identity.

I´d not depict Eastern Germans as "mongrelized Poles" because of that. First, Poles are just one people among a number of West Slavic peoples, so these Slavs in later Germany, called Wends, were not Poles. Second, due to the usual fact neighboring people are related (which is close to banality), you can always call one of them a mongrelized form of the other. But would you depict Britsh as mongrelized Irish or mongrelized Germans? I don´t think so.

Btw Eastern Germans are genetically abt. the closest group to Bronze Age Tollensetal warriors (as a secondary convergence). So this genetic is not totally new. It could even be the traditional genetic in that geographic area for quite a while.
