Get into a modern or ancient datasheet (scaled or unscaled), and in SOURCE, delete all those references you have NOT known ancestry from, and only keep references with your known ancestries. Paste your scaled or unscaled coordinates (depending on the case) and run yourself. The lower the distances, the better, and post your results in here. You can model yourself several times with different custom made calculators, but also explain the methodology you used to come up with them.

On this first experiment, I deleted most references from the Modern Population Averages datasheet (scaled), and only left Spanish references (excluding Canaries), Portuguese (because they're almost the same genetically as Spaniards), all Italian references (excluding Italian Jew), all Amerindian references that I could recognize, and all West African references that I could recognize. And I came up with this custom made calculator (more or less the same calculator that I created for mixed Latin Americans):

There's no model that perfectly fits me, French samples don't work on me as well as British ones.

Did you read mofo ? He said modern OR ANCIENT !. Surely, you can make an ancient model with iron age and middle age samples.

I used references from countries I actually have a recent papertrail connection to, and ignored populations that I have no proof of connection to or that I have a connection to but it's more than 5 generations back (regardless of DNA results). This is what I got (the only one I kept in that did not show up in my results was Scottish):

As many are aware, the Vahaduo calc received an update recently, it now targets a slightly lower distance. Here is an example of the previous Vahaduo calc compared to the new calc, using only my ancestral pops (from the modern pop averages spreadsheet):

If I use both ancient and modern samples, this is as close as it gets. If I do anything else, I'll get better distance but at the expense of having all my French ancestry poured into either Spain or England.

The Isle of Man sample appears to be largely Norse, which also could be partially representative of my British heritage, since I got nearly 10% Scandinavian on my 23andme that nearly all went into the British percentage after the first update.
