View Full Version : Classify Don José Coronado (Cristiano Viejo).

Don

Spanish actor (a true spanish among hordes of mongrels who claim to be so.)

Recently worked in one of the best thriller movies of Spain playing the role of a deranged and avenger Spaniard Police man against the system, its "justice", the islamic invaders and the immigrant criminal gangs in Spain.

Classify this castilian actor. Avoid any "he could fit in" comments if possible, since spaniards can not fit elsewhere but in Spain (and on the contrary), neither interested in so.

Thanks.

All Spaniards in here as well, but our man is in the left. Classify the others if you wish. Warrantied highly representative phenotypes as well [as part of the realistic film commented -someone wanted to see how conquistadores looked like?-

Baskid is a subracial classification.

BASKID

Composite, dinariform, mostly Atlanto-Mediterranid type associated with the Basques.

Wrong, Asturian, Cantabrian, Basque and others were always a guarantee of Cristianos viejos.

Any way this countryman does not seem especially Basque, he is a clasical Celtibero.

I guess I would classify him as a West Iberian.

More accurately, he can be classified as one of the prime and typical examples of the Hispanic race, from Coruña to Cadíz, Valenciá to Vizcaya.

Baskid IMO.

In the last picture, the guy in the middle is the director of that movie. He is the only basque among them.

But I would like to remember that the genesis of actual spaniards was made in reconquista from north (the regions named by labaru, including navarre -as my own paternal lineage- with warrantied pedigree) to south. In fact the Spanish kindgoms were founded in northern regions of Iberia (aragon, leon and castile) and expanded south (to andalucía) in reconquered lands.

True. This face is more common is the central Plateau (castile) than in mediterranean Spain (catalonia/valencia). Coherently with the reconquering and repopulation vectors of the two kingdoms (Castile/Aragon).

But his traits are paradigm of castilian, not basquid at all (not at least the ones without castilian blood).

Are the guys in the last picture similar, they share common spaniard traits for a foreigner eye?

I'm not saying he is Basque. He is a very good example of a baskid racial type.
It's like a Nordid in Albania, doesn't mean he's Scandinavian.

There is nothing baskid, at all.

Essentially, you are right, Don. From an Iberocentric perspective I wouldn´t look at him and automatically think Basque or any of the Levantine Iberians. More Castilian, Leonese etc,. However, I wouldn´t be in total shock if someone who looked like him said: " Soy Vasco" or "Soy Valenciáno."

since spaniards can not fit elsewhere but in Spain

That is so patently false, I struggle to see how anyone could seriously believe it. Blind nationalism is not a virtue.

These pictures with short and clean cut haircut are much better suited to classify him
