Well, Afrikaners are mostly of Dutch origin but also German, French, English and to a lesser extent Scandinavian and Southern European.

Even if Afrikaners were solely of Dutch origin, they would certainly diverge from the Dutch, just like the first American colonists, they are a subset of a population, a creole ethnic group which has followed a different path from the original population in the European continent.

yes, what is good in North Europe could be not so good in the South Africa (meaning absolutely same genetically populations)

I can make no distinction. They can pass as anything from Hungary and Romania to Czech Rep. and Germany.
