I think his look comes from ancient Magyars (craggy lapponoid): it is non-existent among Romanians and present in some Szekelers (Ludovic Orban, former Romanian Prime Minister has it in diluted form).

I have some features in common with him, like height above 1.9 meters, a wide and short nose with high forward projection, a short face relative to head size, and low orbits, even though I don't otherwise really look like him.

I think that when face height is measured from the glabella, people with lower orbits also tend to have a shorter face, because they have a lower y-axis position of the glabella. For example compared to him, his wife had a much higher glabella, and she also had higher supraorbital rims that were more slanted outwards:
