How do you get this?

I am assuming red means closest but what about other colors on the map. where is the annotation?

Done by user Ph2ter (he demands a small fee though).

Dark red is closest > ligter red > orange > beige > green > blue

Your father's results are not very surprising to me. He seems typically Azerbaijani. Also kinda close to Iranians, Turks and Kurds. Still, I find it fascinating how your dad is genetically distant from a neighbouring population like the Armenians. Very cool.

How much does it cost to get this done? I'm interested.

It's actually not common for Azerbaijanis and Armenians to be close. Azerbaijanis are usually closer to Turks and Iranians.

$12 for G25 (includes 8 maps)
or alternatively $5 for Gematch (K13, k15 or MDLP k23b)

Yes, I've seen many other Azerbaijani results. But I could imagine how someone outside this "genealogy world" would think that nations neighbouring each other (for centuries) would have similar customs, culture but also genetics.

It just amazes me because results like your father's tells us that no matter how close you live to one another, you could still be miles apart in genetics. History in general is a fascinating subject to me but just let it sink in that an ethic Turk from İzmir, the outskirt of West Asia, is closer to an Azerbaijani DESPITE that Azerbaijani could have Armenian neighbours in a 10 km distance for CENTURIES, and still be closer to someone 1000s km away. Just because centuries before their ancestors moved together.

Idk how this program works but it must be a good site. Just compare your map with Afshar settlements in Anatolia(during Ottoman era). You are mostly clustering with them:
