For my samples this either inflates Celtic ancestry or Germanic. Oddly for me next to nothing changes.

I'd say your original results are consistent with other British Islanders I've tested.

He's an American with some French or German ancestry as well. I don't think British Islanders will match with Hallstatt very well for example.

It remains to be seen how much Continental Celtic has influenced Isles populations. There is some speculation that English (especially Southeast English) might have more Continental Celtic input than the traditional Insular Celts. I know, ironic isn't it? :)

I may have to try mixing ancient samples with modern ones as I did with the Slavic samples.

I think there's only so much you can glean from G25 right now regarding NW Euro migrations, there needs to be more samples from different places and times, hopefully we'll be getting that in the next year.

It's erroneous to say those Celtic components represent British & Irish admixture though as they don't. You would need Bronze Age British samples to represent actual British & Irish.

At this point we are creating a frankenstein calculator. The whole concept of this calculator is flawed since it used at least one bronze age sample as only Iron Age and medieval age samples should be used to infer modern ethnicity. England Iron age is sufficient for British Celtic and English Anglo-Saxon I think has some samples that were mixed with British celts like modern British people so some individual samples would be ideal instead but I'm not sure.

At the end of the day not to highjack the thread but Davidski modeled the British isles pretty well here. A newer more vetted version might be able to be made with new viking samples. Even with less than ideal samples it seems more or less correct. This is how it is done you take Iron age and medeival age samples or you focus on one such period like here you don't just go throwing in Denmark Bronze Age willy nilly style etc... :

DEU Roman i think It's effective Celtic or Celtiberian, are more distant to the majority of Italics, Etruscans and Latins than HRV IA, a sort of middle ground between these two samples, which should trace more or less in southern Spain and in some parts of northern Italy and in Corsica
