Nudity, sex, SJW ideals; welcome to LOTR 2.0

Not surprised. Game of Thrones was a great example of how a liberal agenda can ruin a masterpiece of a series.

I haven’t heard much of this LOTR show though surprisingly

Thankfully I never watched GOT, I was triggered that they advertised the show to kids at baseball games. I am all for adults watching what they want but GOT should never ever be marketed to kids.

Yeah I second that. Def not a show for kids.. weird they did that.

So weird xD, they did it at hockey games too. They handed out GOT themed crap and had the throne in different stadiums. Wtf does hockey or baseball have to do with GOT xD.

I guess the old expression is, sex sells.

Ironic because I don't know if I've ever read anything as asexual as the LOTR books. I know the writers chose to fabricate/beef up the romantic relationships in the trilogy films.

Tolkien managed to engage and enrapture us without sex, kudos to him.

This is just one instance, there was literally promotions across the NHL and MLB.

Ahhh just marketing tactics. Stadium is full of people, I don’t really see why it was necessary though it was arguably one of the most talked about series of its decade lol.

Ikr, that show like most HBO hit shows marketed itself without all the weird tie ins and promotions. I remember when they had Sopranos themed commercials when it was still running.

I remember some years ago when I was watching the very first episode of GoT, and there was a sex scene (with that dwarf guy). I was thinking "Why is this necessary?" Nowadays it seems they push sex scenes everywhere. If I want to see sex on screen, I will just watch porn.
I didn't watch any more episodes, not because of the sex scene but because that one episode didn't impress me much, I was also more interested in other stuff at the time.

Watch Sparticus the Showtime series. That whole thing is like a softcore porn series xD.

It's also not Lord of the Rings. From what I've heard it's set in Tolkien's world but not during the time period of the books and with original characters created by Amazon or whoever.

Please tell me you're lying. Looks like another good original is gonna pull a Star Wars Kathleen Kennedy all over again.

Who cares anyway? The books are masterpieces and the original movies are classics. I bet no one watches this new show and it gets canceled after a season.

You'll have to learn to bypass these obnoxious remarks I guess. GoT had some incredible writing and acting - you'll miss it if you can't get used to the over the top nudity and the occasional Marxist injections here and there.

I had higher hopes for the LOTR show though, thought maybe we get an exception to this hideous trend and it'll be a great show void of these things. Apperently not, great use of their 1 billion dollar budget.

I have hardly seen GOT and I have not read the book but what big changes are there between the book and the series?

Seasons 1-6 followed the book mostly and were phenomenal.

7&8 were written by screenwriters and absolute trash.

I hope they dare not put sex scenes in the series, Tolkien did not prioritize sex in his books, if we are going to see a series of the Lore of Tolkien's work I hope it is faithful and does not become a hardcore porn like Spartacus or GoT.

Good thing, I won't watch the stuff. GOT was a letdown, so God only knows how badly they will rape LOTR.

Drogon went East, Arya went West, Jon went North, and the plot went South.
