View Full Version : What European nations have the best architecture?

1. I gotta put the British/Americans first just as a technicality for the Victorian/modern era's but America isn't as atheistically pleasing beyond the 1800's.
2. Romans invented concrete and contribitued a lot to sanitation although their stuff was completely abandoned after the fall of the empire.
3. Greece of course has to be up there, they had really paved the way for European architecture.
4. Germany. I love the alpine German rustic look, it's very homey feeling and is a mainstay in folk art.
5. I would say the French and Normans, together they forged the castle age and without them the medieval aesthetic just wouldn't exist.
