That's why I think phenotypes are all bollocks. My dad is Ukrainian and Polish and was classified as Baltid despite my grandad being North Pontid.

If they look differently they can have different phenotypes. My sis is Gorid and I'm mostly Norid, there is no rule that all relatives have to have same phenotype.
Phenotypes is not really about making serious assumptions about ancestry cause looks can be deceptive, here on TA it often goes other way, we make assumptions about phenotypes basing on ethnicity.
For example The Blade made classification Balto-Borreby and Dirdepo is trying to make drama telling he is CM-Gorid, while Gorid is Balto-Alpinid and Borreby is CM type, so both classifications mean pretty much the same with difference that Dirdepo used more eastern variants to justify them by ethnicity and The Blade trying to be objective in this matter.

Thats why the mother side counts too (simply said- in fact much more things play into it)
