I don't know but looking up mtDNA origins and stuff like that is pretty boring to me?
Finding out about y dna is so much more exciting

We both have mtDNA so
I think there is way more data on y-dna.

Why is it? Becasue Y has practical apply, mt hasn't.

Yes, but the maternal surname is lost in the second generation.

The answer for it are cultural reason, but for the majority of people it is not even interesting.
