Without too much anti-racism.
This must be one of the only interesting videos that I have seen made by a Maghrebian on the case of the "Algerian people" (Berbers).
I have some things to complain about, but overall it's correct.
You can activate the English subtitle.
If you want, you can skip the video until 23:50 and 35:50, when he brings up the subject of the Global 25

Unfortunately there are off-topic comments criticizing the subject, like this (lol):
"As an algerian this video isn't really accurate.
The indigenous people of algeria before the: Roman, Byzantine, Vandal, Spanish, Ottoman, Arabic & French invasions are Amazigh aka Berber (Roman empire called the amazigh people when they invade north africa as Berbers which means a non-roman or a foreigner).
Statistically 70% - 80% of algerians of today are originally berber/amazigh or at least have that berber gene.
Of today, we happen to have this diversity of algerian people due to the invasions/occupations that I've mentioned above which effected enourmously our culture.
It is also mistaken that algeria is an arab country, which is an arabized berber country (Arabized meaning we speak arabic. And that's even pariatially untrue because even though it is one of the two official languages in the country next to Thamazight language, it is barely spoken, we speak Darija which is a creole language (originally is a mix of five languages: thamazight, turkish, french, arabic and spanish) and you can see that diversity again in the spoken langauge in today's algeria. It is recognised as a dialect rather than a language, but it is what algerians speak, nationally. Besides Darija, we also speak French, Thamazight (not all algerians) and ofc standard arabic, that's one of the perks of being an algerian, we are multi-ligual. Add to that english that we learn in schools."
Except that it addresses the ancestral populations which are the basis of the genetic makeup of "Algerians".
He understood absolutely nothing I think. The person does not say that the Berbers are Arabs, but that there are certainly contributions from the (ancestral) Middle East from before the Islamic period.
Moreover, the recent "genetic diversity" is a myth: this diversity already existed before the existence of the Roman Empire; the diversity of the phenotypes of the "Algerians" are due to the ancestral contributions, it is as little surprising as the phenotypic diversity of the Ashkenazi when one knows their genetics.
