Do Afghans and Pakistanis look CLOSEST to Egyptians and South Indians closest to Ethiopians?

I've found an interesting European account of Indians and who they look closest to. What's your opinion?

An how many have you come across? Persians look very distinct don't you agree? Every Euro explorer noted their distinction. The Euro traveler was referring to the people South of the Kabul River and West of the Indus river(that used to be called India), not North Indians. North Indians and East Pakistanis don't even look Afghan let alone Persians. Keep in mind, these people back then didn't have the internet or global travel to see a variety of phenotypes like we do so take his opinion with a grain of salt.

Weird situation. I know lots of Iranians that have mistaken me for Iranian, here in London. I know plenty of desis that look like me.

I've known a Coptic Egyptian who was stunned that I am Bangladeshi, wouldn't believe it, kept pointing me out to Syrian and Berber guys as "Indian but he looks so Coptic!".

In my opinion there *are* strong similarities all the way into Egypt, between *some* subgroups, maybe it goes back to the IVC (as there seems to be evidence of large scale trade between Egypt and the various cities of the IVC)?

Yes, Egyptians and Northern South Asians can look similar. However, South Indians and Ethiopians usually have noticeably different facial features, even if the colouring can be similar.

Central and southern Egyptians do actually in cases look quite similar to Indians and Bangladeshis, more so than most Arab peoples except for those at the south east of the peninsula and parts of Yemen. I would say it is down to the ancient mediterranean and Negroid strains that are present across east Africa and some of south Asia.
