I thought he looked quite british, or Irish. Maybe it is the facial expression. People is used to certain looks or facial expressions and if they don´t match they don´t give a full vibe for their place.

He does and i would not think he was not English if i passed him quickly in the street, there is something, maybe about his face being a little shorter but he seems a bit more continental to me.
