Do you also think West Asia is genetically more diverse than Europe with respect to its population size?
When looking at GEDmatch results, I realised that West Asian ethnicities are still has very significant distances from their closest neighbours. However, the same thing cannot be said for European ethnicities, where the distances between ethnicites are smaller. What can be the reason for that? I guess it is because West Asia has more physical barriers such as high mountains in the north and hot deserts in the south. The other barrier might be that intermarriages in West Asia might be limited due to cultural differences. I guess, West Asia has more cultural differences than Europe does. For example, although both Turkey and Saudi Arabia are in West Asia, they are culturally worlds apart.
