How are modern phenos different?

For instance, most of the Med types in old Romanian photos are not to be found in the current population.
Perhaps the current population is more urban, idk.

I agree that there is significant Med input in the OP group. Compare it with the Bulgarian group posted by pelikarski. Even though the Bulgarian group is from a town just 50 km from the border with Romania, it looks much more East Slavic influenced (at least to my eyes):
