He does not know his father (he has his mother's last name), but from what his mother said: he could be a native from North of France (therefore a French), his mother has origins from Picardy (North of France), Béarn ("Basque-like" part of South-West France: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/B%C3%A9arn), Hainaut (Picardy part of Belgium: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hainaut_Province) and Sarthe (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sarthe)

The non-scientific stupidities on the diversity of the French attract more than my threads showing homogeneity.

He is not of German descent, so I don't see why he should be shifted toward Germans...

Not "iberians", but Basques. he's shifted towards the Basques because of Béarn contribution, who form a Basque-French mixture (mixture of French and Basque, not purely basque).

On a PCA, there not just the Spaniards. It seems that if we don't clust with Norwegians, we are necessarily in the Spanish cluster or we "shifted" towards the Spaniards, but no it does not work that way. This is a view that a lot of people have of Apricity, an incorrect view.

He is at 25% Béarn, so it is consistent that he is shifted towards Basques and not the Spaniards (on the PCA, we can clearly see that he is shifted toward Basques, not the Spaniards), but he remains close to the Picards (North of France) and other French people.

You can see that he is closer to other French people (including my father) than to the Spaniards, on the PCA (my father in black and him in red):

So I disagree with those who claimed it's too southern shifted. Don't think so at all.

Even the Picardy (non-Flemish) of the north of France are closer to the French of the Center (and even a little lower like the Ardèche and the Loire) than to the Europeans of the North-West (English and others). So, yeah.

I am the guy who has been tested. The 23andMe and G25 results match perfectly my known genealogy and what I have learned since. Actually, even the ethnic composition from My heritage show "French" up as the best genetic cluster.
My Heritage found two first cousins once removed with respectively 224cM and 335 cM segment DNA shared and 52 cM as the longer one. Since the tree of the two cousins is very well documented, i was able to track down the person who is probably my biological father after searching for him for decades.
It's just a miracle.

I forgot to specify that you were of Normando-Picardo-Provençal origin on the paternal side, I simplified with the data I had available.

Many people on Apricity (I'm not saying all) deny the existence of the native French cluster, and think that in the North you are a kind of "English-like" and that in the South, a kind of Spanish! That is to say that for them, a French from the North cannot be closer to a French from the center than to an Englishman.

You can read the comment of the person who said that you had a proximity with the Spaniards, while this is not the case since we see that your Béarn input pulls you towards the Basques (but not totally towards the Basques), but not towards the Spaniards.

I am the first amazed to get so French components in all the analyses. 23andMe detect no matches in South Europe despite being 30% Iberian. MH give me 54,6% Iberian but, actually, the Iberian clusters turn out to be from Southern France.

It's just because we have almost the same point of view on some topics which are discussed here and we follow each other on twitter. I asked him to help me to run the eurogenes analysis. He was the one who send my 23andMe raw data to Dave in order to get my G25 coordinates.
