TheCEPT gene (Cholesteryl Ester Transfer Protein) is associated with Cholesterol. . Is responsible for controlling the levels of cholesterol and fat in the blood, and which can help remove excess cholesterol out of the body. It was connected to longevity in some populations. Post yo alleles.

rs5882:

A = High CETP activity

G = Low CETP activity

he “A” allele is associated with:

Decreased risk of early-onset myocardial infarction (men)

High levels of serum HDL concentrations in adolescents

The “G” allele is associated with:

High HDL levels

Decreased risk of Alzheimer’s disease and dementia, as well as slower rate of memory decline

Increased risk of myocardial infarction (men)

Increased risk for polypoidal choroidal vasculopathy (PCV) (Chinese Han)

Structure of white matter in the brain

Lower triglyceride concentrations

rs708272:

Mechanisms:

High CETP activity (G)

Low CETP activity (A)

The “A” allele is associated with:

Increased HDL levels

Low risk of myocardial infarction

High apolipoprotein concentrations

Increased risk of gallbladder cancer (Chilean women)

Increased risk of coronary artery disease

Lower HDL concentrations in postmenopausal women

Decreased risk of coronary atherosclerosis (Chinese)

The “G” allele is associated with:

Decreased levels of HDL

What I can say is that my total cholesterol is normal and that my HDL (good cholest) is higher than normal, my numbers have been more or less the same my whole adult life. And I don't have any of the conditions/diseases mentioned in OP, yet... :sweat:

My HDL and LDL values have been normal. My BMI is 23. I am 72 and have survived without heart problems, probably also without brain problems. My ECG has always shown abnormality a partial RBBB, which means a partial Right Bundle Branch Block. Sometimes I have elevated. HR. My rest HR is 50-54. I did Cooper test a week ago and got a level good in my age class, meaning the level of 15 years younger, but we have now a bit snow and I had not so suitable shoes, so I will repeat it later in the spring. My tested IQ has dropped somewhat, but the starting level was over median, so I don't worry yet :)
