I find this sample quite interesting.

Basically it's a mix of Italic and Aegean, remember that Greek admixture was present in a couple of outliers from the Iron age era and probably made its way in Rome very early.
In the paper this sample was listed as the first Imperial sample, and it appears that they were sorted somewhat chronologically, that's also interesting.

Now, what is the big deal?
This samples was among the samples from the "Necropoli Salaria near Via Paisiello".
Some articles (In Italian) I found about the necropolis:
https://bollettinodiarcheologiaonline.beniculturali.it/wp-content/uploads/2018/12/2012_3-4_Torri_DeLoof_Salario.pdf
https://www.jstor.org/stable/26598838?seq=1
From what I could gather from these articles, some part of the necropolis could date to the late Republican period, and it's a nice place overall. Not a mass graveyard like some (or all) the other Imperial sites used in that infamous paper.
Now, I don't believe that the Imperial samples in the paper are representative, they are probably slaves or migrants. That could explain why Rome today is totally different although it is one the only place in Italy that was never conquered by the Longobards. This sample might be more representative, since we can speculate it was from the early imperial period. Also all the other samples from Via Paisiello are all fairly European, and they average around modern Lazio.

This is in strong contrast with other Imperial samples from the outskirt of Rome, especially the ones from the area of Isola Sacra near the coast, where basically all samples had very little European admixture.

Also there is another sample which is quite interesting since it's similar to one of the Prenestini IA sample.

The mind blowing thing is that there is a Julio Claudian inscription near the site or in the site itself.
https://i.imgur.com/rwaA8WW.png
And from I can understand, since the cemetery was "crowded", generally freedmans and peasants were buried in urns, so it's hard to imagine that they took DNA from those. But some of the more complete skeletons were inside niches and were probably of higher status.
Also I found something else.

Here the archeologists believe that the site it's Augustan era or late Republic.
Very relevant stuff IMO.

I f you try that sample here:

http://g25vahaduo.genetics.ovh/ULTIMATE%20ANCIENT%20COMPONENTS.htm

Target: ITA_Rome_Imperial:RMPR111
Distance: 2.5235% / 0.02523503
63.2 Early_European_Farmer
28.0 Steppe_Pastoralist
5.0 Iran_Neolithic
3.8 Western_Hunter-Gatherer

That 5% Iran Neolithic could be taken as a Eastern Mediterranean/Levantine related .

We can see the result in the same model with the sample you used in your model as "Levantine":

Target: Levant
Distance: 3.0043% / 0.03004275
43.2 Early_European_Farmer
27.6 Iran_Neolithic
19.4 Early_Levantine_Farmer
8.6 Caucasus_Hunter-gatherer
1.2 Africa_Mesolithic

I mean,it is not probably a direct Levantine admixture of that individual, but more like a "East Med" type indicator.

Anyway, is not a great %.

I think it's the CHG signal that Minoans and Greeks had, in fact I think that RMPR111 fit a 50% Italic 50% Greek mix fairly well. There was no population in the middle east by Imperial era that had CHG/Iran but no Levant. So there has to be older or indeed Greek. And it's not that much. Kura Araxes is EEF+CHG basically.

I f you try that sample here:

http://g25vahaduo.genetics.ovh/ULTIMATE%20ANCIENT%20COMPONENTS.htm

Target: ITA_Rome_Imperial:RMPR111
Distance: 2.5235% / 0.02523503
63.2 Early_European_Farmer
28.0 Steppe_Pastoralist
5.0 Iran_Neolithic
3.8 Western_Hunter-Gatherer

That 5% Iran Neolithic could be taken as a Eastern Mediterranean/Levantine related .

We can see the result in the same model with the sample you used in your model as "Levantine":

Target: Levant
Distance: 3.0043% / 0.03004275
43.2 Early_European_Farmer
27.6 Iran_Neolithic
19.4 Early_Levantine_Farmer
8.6 Caucasus_Hunter-gatherer
1.2 Africa_Mesolithic

I mean,it is not probably a direct Levantine admixture of that individual, but more like a "East Med" type indicator.

Anyway, is not a great %.
It doesn't look very different from me genetically, very interesting

There was one Roman sample I remember, although probably an outlier, that clustered like a Northern Albanian almost.
