I have suffered for the love of my country
i never agreed with the campaigns i was
involved in Bosnia, Kosovo, Afghanistan,
Iraq. these places are forever etched in my mind
the worst part of being a soldier is you cant
choose the wars your country fights you wear
the burden for life.

What is up with all the Hitler crap? That mid-twentieth century, middle European middle-brow politician instigated the destruction of much of the continent and makes a poor choice of a rallying point for the preservation of our cultural and genetic stock. I understand that he has some appeal for Jewish sadomasochists and for angry teenagers at that stage of life when they need to be shocking enough to develop an identity apart from their parents, but why raise his flag here?

its history... i recommend you read hitlers table talk as it lets you inside giving you a better understanding of the man adolf hitler, it is far better then any other reading you will come across when trying to get an understanding of hitler.

we can learn a lot from our errors in the past

Welcome bousch!! I live in the Appalachians too. Allegany County, Maryland. I was in the 555th Engineer Battalion (Army) during 1990-1991 Desert Storm. Only made it to Texas though. It was a cartographic unit.

Ashame you don't agree with the "campaign in Afghanistan". In my opinion, we should bomb it to hell!!

What unit were you in?

Enjoy!!

I noticed your thread and eventhough I am kind of on sabbatical I am amazed since I don't see soldiers here everyday. And since I see that you served with the 82nd I am even more curious: a couple of generations ago they liberated my country.
You seem to be seasoned and the medals speak for itself so please enlighten me: what is your age, rank, your regiment ?

And where did you serve ? I didn't see Florida or New Orleans listed so I assume you were out by then ?

Welcome here. Some day we will be desperately needing people with your experience, I am afraid.

I served in the Danish navy more than 20 years ago, btw.
