Hello, After submitting to NIH genbank, looks like new Branch called U2a1a2 was created with my sample YF83218 and Uttarpradesh sample GQ337552 from Palaniswamy study
The Dante sample I submitted to genbank and Ian and to yfull they created a new tree U2a1a2

Interesting, I thought all U came out of Europe but it seems this one never made it to Europe

They got it wrong. U2 was present in Mesolithic and Neolithic Europe particularly among WHG and other Neolithic cultures. https://www.eupedia.com/genetics/haplogroups_of_neolithic_farmers.shtml shows most of them had U2 or U8 which is a variant of U2. However the u2 is more common among Steppe people from where it went into South Asia where close most U2 are present now.

That probably EHG mtDna pickup by WHG in one of the mixings

^ Paleolithic too. Kostenki 14 and the Sungirs carried U2.
