They have a sale on their autosomal kit (Family Finder) (https://www.familytreedna.com/products/family-finder) due to DNA day, so I've just ordered 3 for my grandparents. Shipping is only $5 to Moldova, so pretty good.
I wanted MyHeritage tbh, but it's more expensive at EUR59 right now, even with the discounts.

Well, we already know your results and your parents'. Even your brother's. But we don't know his.

I may buy it for my dad and my maternal grandma these days - why is MyHeritage better than FTDNA? also, does MyHeritage now test more rows than 23andme?

MyHeritage isn't necessarily better, because it uses the same Illumina GSA chip. It is though more convenient, because the rest of us are tested there. But I'll upload these there if they will ever have another free transfer like they did a couple of months ago.
By rows I suppose you meant SNPs? If so, then both MyHeritage and FTDNA test about 78k SNPs that are usable by K13, compared to 55k in 23andme's case.

Doesn't matter, because parents inherited 50% from each parent and my brother and I 25% from each. Thus, there is plenty to discover.

Their results will be interesting, because their ancestry comes from bordering regions and very far (relatively speaking from the perspective of being from Moldova) from one another.

My paternal grandma is from a village in the Centre, about 6km away from Transnistria. That village has a history of Mongol/Tatar settlement in medieval times, so this genome is the most interesting to me.

Paternal grandpa is from the South and about 5km away from Romania. I am curious to see whether his results are going to be similar to those in Galati county, Romania.

Maternal grandma is from the North and about 6km away from Ukraine...she is an ethnic Ukrainian by identity, but demographically the village is 50% Ukrainian and 50% Moldovan/Romanian. I wonder whether she is mixed and more Moldovan/Romanian than Ukrainian genetically.

So they arrived to my post office in exactly 1 month, but I was unable to get them because someone from the mailing room at FTDNA made a mistake and wrote the name of one of my grandmas as the receiver of the 3 kits instead of mine.
Long story short, local guys refuse to hand it to anyone apart from grandma and they require some kind of document filled by FTDNA to confirm that the receiver should be changed to me.
FTDNA is lazy to fill out the form, and instead they are shipping another batch of 3 kits, now in my name (hopefully).
Another month of waiting

I am a hoarder of FF kits during sale, tbh. I still have several stored that I haven't used.

Some people hoard cats, I hoard FF kits during sales:

FF is real crap, but cheap, and raw data is raw data.

Just remember to transfer to a company that gives you better regional ancestry estimates.

Hey! I want to take advantange of your knowledge :) so, can you ask me this humble questions please?

Which do you think is more accurate, myorigins 3 or gedmatch calculators?
What would you say is a better company for ancestry estimates using ofcourse FTDNA raw data?
In your experience, how many weeks it takes them (FTDNA) to complete the results of a FF kit? (I think they are improving their times but i want a second opinion)

I want to create a big datase base of costarican samples and FTDNA is the cheapest of all companies so it works for me. I have started with my family but in the future i hope to test friends and random people lol.

Would have stayed for longer had they not taken the vaccine.

Grandma on paternal side died of Covid in the meantime, so I will have to test her sister.

Wait, FTDNA requires that you be vaxxed in order to have your sample accepted?

Of course not, but we refused to see them until they received this layer of protection. Didn't want to kill them.
