View Full Version : How much Germanics have impacted Spanish language?

Almost all these words looks as they come from a more recent influence despite The Visigothic kingdom ruled Iberia over 300 years.

I have read that about 200.000 Visigoths have gone to Spain, which is comparable to the number of Germanic people that has gone to Britain. And also Suebis, Vandals and Alans.

Taco !? I called BS on that one, looked up its etymology and it's from Nahuatl tlhaco.
