Seriously what's wrong with them

I'm kinda pissed off rn.

Yeah yeah i did the swab for 60 seconds, no food no drink etc etc followed every possible instruction out there but it still failed.
What's more surprising is that not only me but many many other customers had their tests fail on them as much as 3-6 times

Seriously what kind of company are they. What a bunch of incompetent fools.

Guy
What do you suggest for autosomal + deeper y and mtdna testing.

23 and me is a no go because they want their kit shipped back to them through FedEx only which to be fair is kinda expensive.

Should i opt for MyHeritage and then get YSEQ full y dna and mtDNA for deep clades?

23andMe package comes with a free return postage sticker.
Anyways, LivingDNA raw data is superior compared to both 23andMe raw data and MyHeritage raw data, due to higher SNP count.
So too bad your test failed.
Maybe try again? Third time's a charm, or so they say.

23andMe if you want the best commercial estimate, period.

Now, as Alenka says, LivingDNA's raw data get's a higher SNP count on GEDmatch (than 23andMe & MH), so that is still a good choice. Try doing the cheek swab first thing in the morning - if you decide to give them another shot.

The only reason I can think of to choose MH is that they seem to have a lot of users so therefore a lot of relative matches in comparison to LivingDNA, if that is important to you.

I don't even know anymore to be honest.
Yeah. Living DNA seemed kinda promising and exciting at first. It had so much to offer at a best value for really cheap (only 60-70$).
Unfortunately they cant seem to get enough DNA out of my sample i guess.
I'm at a loss and don't know what to do anymore.

Hey

Could this be an indicator that there's something inherently wrong with me...a genetic disorders perhaps?

My mother's first two tries at 23andMe failed in the lab. The third time worked, she did the saliva sample right after she woke up and that seems to have made the difference.

That's what I'll do too.

Guys
My next kit will arrive in about 2-3 days.
What tips do you have to give (besides the swab in the morning no eat no drink one)

One other thing I have heard of, take one of those interdental flossing brushes and rough up the insides of your cheeks a bit before taking the sample. I did read about this helping to get a successful test for someone who was struggling, but it was a saliva sample, not a swab style test.

Better to use a knife and remove a sample of skin tisdue

Do they give you a more specific explanation why they all failed, or some advices?

I would go for 23andme, the difference in autosomal should be anecdotic and larger databases for relatives etc..
