I don't really understand what these Canadian politicians are on about. The only threats to their "Arctic sovereignty" comes from the USA and to a lesser degree, the EU.

Russia's Arctic claims don't infringe on Canada's territory and Canada has no business interfering in Russia's Arctic sphere although they've been very vocal in their attempts to do so.

Rather confusing what they're trying to accomplish with all the rhetoric in the media......

I myself would just read the OP's linked article with a critical eye. There are a few things in that article that aren't quite accurate shall I say.

Best to do more research on the subject and not pin one's opinions on just this one article. Just a word of friendly advice folks. :)
