The question doesn't even make sense. First, there is no race, but populations, and the main genetic variation among humans is between individuals, not populations. Each population is adapted to a different geographic and social context.

These same africans only knew their slave way of life imposed by their european masters (in that case french masters) living for generations under that same system and then became free after a revolt. Are you really expecting them to produce skilled politicians, traders, scientists, etc ?

To be fair the original settlers on Iceland completey ruined the ecosystem by chopping of every single forest on the island without doing as much as planting anything new. Todays icelandic population is a whole other thing though.
