I can see the Turkic in them massively . East black sea region has one of the lowest amounts of Turkic influence though right?

Yes, east black sea has the lowest amount but the amount starts to lessen in Trabzon. Giresun (west of trabzon) has the highest amount in the region (%10-20). Its due to high concentration of Çepni Turkmen settlement in the area.

That is crazy . Shows in their phentoype which some people deny that Turks have no "Turkic " In them . True Turks :).

Predominantly West Asians with Turanid/Mongoloid elements.
Honestly if i had seen them on the street somewhere Turkic would not be the first thing that would come to mind except for the guy on the right in the first pic. The rest i would have guessed generic SE European / W Asian. Not saying they don’t have Turkic genes just that they didn’t inherit a significant number of facial morphology Turkic genes.
Many kurds I’ve seen look more E Asian or Turkmen influenced than them by phenotype (except the guy on the right in the 1st pic). For example some of these kurds

Look exactly how I imagine Giresun Turks, Armenian+Turkic
Pure Oğuz survivers in Turkey! :amour101: #ChepniGang
Indeed my cousin has a friend from her uni in Giresun who looks extremely Kazakh/Kyrgyz/Siberian but her friends(including my cousin herself) call her Korean :/ indeed she a bit resembles Koreans(actually mostly Hapas)

If I saw them IRL, I'd think they're Uzbek. If Kurds can look like them, then Kurds probably have Central Asian origins like Turks do. :thumb001:

Their native anatolian part is like Trabzon and Rize Greeks so your assesment is generally correct i think.

Photos of old people are not suitable for classifications.
Neverthless, I see Dinaric, Pontic, East Med, Corded/Steppe Nordic, Cromagnid, Armenioid/Taurid, Atlantic Med and Alpinid elements.

Brother I usually agree with you in most things within this forum but I have to say I disagree on this one . It's quite clear that ethnic Turks have Turkic admixture , alot of them look like a turkmen+ native Anatolian mixes . The last pic of the two older ladies literally feels like I'm seeing people from Uzbekistan or a turkic village in Afghanistan . I don't think Turks claim they are pure Turkic / mongol due to the reason that central Asian Turkic themselves aren't pure Turkic let alone pre Mongol raids oghuz Turks . Even more so , half afghan iranic + afghan Turkic mixes almost always resemble some sort of Turkic influenced Turk , which further substantiates the idea that ethnic Turks have massive amounts of Turkic DNA in them.

I'm curious , how did such a large population of Anatolia receive all this Turkic DNA ? Is it like they show on Erugrul where waves of Turkic tribes migrated? But how did the people from the city mix with the nomads ? Are there still any tribes left ?

Some tribal identities still stand (especially among yörüks) like Afshar, Kınık, Çepni etc.

Agreed. I wasn’t basing anything on how much turkic dna. I was strictly going on looks that’s why i said you can have turkic dna but not inherit the turkic genes that affect face. I based my opinion on if i were to see these people on the streets of new york would turkey be the only thing that would come to my mind. With the guy on the right in the first pic yes some sort of turkic background would come to mind.
With the rest they could easily blend in in SE Europe or many parts of W Asia and wouldn’t stand out like the other guy. Also keep in mind this sort of thing is very subjective. For me for example they would have to look more turkic than my relatives before i start noticing Turkicness in the face

Yeah it’s not really surprising since that whole area has been under Seljuks, Ottomen, Turkmen, Parthians, Scythians, Mongols etc not even counting the Central Asian Aryan ancestry of Kurds and other Iranics
