I think a more typical English look is this type of a freakish mouse man:

Or for some reason I also associate wide-set eyes like this with British people:

Not at all, looks more German to me. The most “British” look would be a keltid nord automatically because it’s the one phenotype which is very common all across Britain/Ireland from Kent to Ulster.

Generic White American look, seen a lot of Southerners online who look more British than him, just look at videos of Trump supporters etc from the South and you will see more British looking people.

He looks typical here but not especially British that he would struggle to pass in other countries, Pickford is much more British looking for example as show above.

To me he looks like an English gentleman- a more upper class Brit. They had some Germanic influence and also Nordic and Normandy. I was surprised he was even American, tbh. I expected him to have an English or Australian accent. Even most Americans in the South do not look as full on British as that guy.

Yeah, he has quite an upper class look, lots of guys like that in posh areas of Kent etc i think the uber British types are more working class, think Pickford again or Peter Kay. Americans are not that different to Brits though, had a lot of American students and tourists here in London before Covid, was genuinely hard to tell them apart from Brits tbh.

in years past it was easier. Americans dressed very differently. Now the English copied us and our style so it's harder to tell. In America you can't even really tell people apart by region anymore, although as a rule, Southerners dress up more.

Would you say the Bee Gees had the average British look?

Is the dressing up more a nightlife thing in the South? i know in Britain that people in the working class North dress more flamboyantly at night, always associated Southerners with wearing denim a lot, New Yorkers look just like Londoners i imagine but i think a bit more stylish?

I think the "dressing up" characteristic might be a truthful observation, in terms of the Southern tradition of dressing in formal attire for church. But this sort of thing generally is a matter of education level/social standing expressing itself.

Denim is country style, but not necessarily Southern. I mean Southrons dress up as "dress casual" . The Northerners seem to not do this as much. For example, if you visited a Frat house in the South you would see young men dressed in kahkis and button down shirts and sometimes a blazer. In the Northeast or Midwest they would be wearing basketball shorts and tennis shoes

The American equivalent to that would be Bostonians.

Very few Americans look like that. We aren't much for hooligan chic.

Only one American looks like that. He played the banjo in "Deliverance".

Even though he's probably of British descent (as 80-90% of whites in that state are) he doesn't look so typical. After 400 years of separation, thanks to a relatively small founder group, English Americans have developed their own look...

I watched Stranger Things and agree with this

OP looks really Australian somehow, could be that the types have evolved in the new world, combined with better climate, lifestyle etc. You don't get many borreby hooligan types in the US and Australia, though this could be a diet thing
