Is there any new, previously unpublished data in that study? I'm more interested in autosomal results.

There must be autosomal data because they were used in the paper with Lazaridis to show Kurds have eastern and western Scythian ancestry. It would be nice to get the data

Kurds in Turkmenistan are fairly new settlers. I have seen asiatic features among Kurds in Khorasan Iran too. Those are primarily from intermingling with Turkmens, Turks and Khorasanis.

I don't understand what's the point in trying to portray them as turkic tho.

I guess fairly recent (within last 500 years). The point is that we’re all mixed and no group lives in a vacuum. We’re all affected by surrounding groups in some way. Just as the Khorasani kurds are affected by surrounding Turkmen Iraqi and Turkey and NW Irani Kurds have been affected by Armenians Anatolians Turks Assyrians.

So then what was the original Kurd ? Obviously there’s no clear answer that would cover all Kurds based on the limited ancient DNA and historical accounts.

Some Kurd nationals are also very wrong when they say Kurds are original Anatolians or Mesopotamians. Their claim is very easy to refute though because Kurds in Turkey and Iraq cluster with Iranians and not Iraqis or Turks. Therefore they must have migrated to Iraq and Turkey from Iran.

For Kurds E Eurasian is more from Scythians and the like than Turkic. If you look at the map above you’ll see that Lurs (LU) who share so much ancestry with Feyli Kurds also have some East Asian. Now Lurs and Feyli/Pahli kurds are not bordering Turks or Turkmen. Therefore some of the East Asian in Kurds/Lurs is older
