I'm not sure what typical results for Irish people are on this, but here's mine.

Born and raised in England, currently living in Northern Ireland. My mother is a Northern Irish catholic, her mother was from County Down (Downpatrick/Castlewellan) and her father from County Tyrone (Aughnacloy), she has distant Armagh and Monaghan also. My father is from County Louth, just north of Dundalk near the NI border. Nearly all his ancestry comes from the North Louth area with some other ancestry from South Down.

The birth places of all 32 of my great-great-great grandparents (bar one which were not sure of) look like this:

Louth - 12/32

Down - 9/32

Tyrone - 4/32

Armagh - 4/32

Monaghan - 2/32

Adds up to 31 since as I said one I'm not too sure of. Its worth noting although Louth is included in Ulster in AncestryDNA it is actually part of Leinster.

My father has since passed away. However I am considering getting a kit for my mother, interestingly enough two of her siblings to my surprise have done the test. Their results:

Mum's brother (My uncle):
Ireland - 54%
Scotland - 46%

Mum's sister (My aunt):
Ireland - 58%
Scotland - 39%

As you can see there's quite a bit of discrepancy in results for what I'm getting and my mothers family are getting, notably the much higher Scottish component.
