As far as I know, database of GEDmatch calculators consist of the DNA of people whose have been living in villages for many generations. Does such policy have a certain purpose? Also, wouldn’t it be better if they also collected samples from urban people’s DNA to be used in GEDmatch calculators’ database?

Not always. Finnish samples are from the 1000 genomes and other academic sources. We don't exactly know the principles of the 1000 genomes, but other known widespread samples are from Helsinki and from a small parish in North Finland. No dedicated samples are available for public databases like Gedmatch from historic provinces, although Finnish researcher have them. I don't know the situation in other countries, but want to ask if you have first hand information.

One of my compatriots on TA told me that Turkish samples in the calculators’ database are collected from villages but I don’t know why only or mostly villages but not from the urban.
