Icelandic and Norwegian are Celto-germanic mixed populations. the calculators breakdown the celtic and germanic admixture and assigns the population closest to the amount of Germanic and Celtic you have. And there are tons of Celtic germanic mixed populations, English, Dutch, frisian, flemish, northwest German...ect. you would have to delete many more populations from the source to fully separate the irish from the Germanic admixture.

Yes, since certain populations in Europe are so close with one another, than if you differ a little bit more from your national average (as in your case), you might get rather the results from the population which is closest to your national or regional average. With mixed people you will get somehow the populations in between your main two or three populations. But the minor percentage estimates are pretty interesting to see, since they show those small parts of your ancestry that you might have not known about.

Your looks nice with the Hungarian Szekely result.
Your Nth Swedish probably doesnt make sense in terms of your ancestry.

Personally I dont find K13 modelling composition very good.
Because it tends to produce a balancing act of populations that will produce the lowest distance and the modelling I think is based on components .
For example because I get around 1.80 Red Sea I get attributed small % Saudi ...do I actually have Saudi ancestry ...most likely not .
Because I get 2.29 % Siberian ... K13 attributes me some Finnish % ...do I have Finnish ancestry probably not.
On the otherhand the Austrian and German % I get are probably midpoint populations between my Hungarian and British ancestry but on their own probably not specific to my actual ancestry.
On the other hand the distance to populations result I get in K13 is probably not too unrealistic given my background.

I just delete Icelandic because they are an island population that are a mixture of Scandinavian and Irish/Scots so not a source population. I know Irish are Northwestern Europeans. I was just meaning that the calculators like this have trouble really showing your correct ethnicity unlike a test like 23&Me for example.

To a certain point I do agree that there might be some small flaws in these calculators that won't offer you a perfect result, but I still believe K13 is the best calculator for modern population estimates, better than the commercial DNA test companies provide. Since you are two-way mixed, you obviously won't get as precise estimates as someone with only one major ancestry, but I can assume that Saudi percentage might wanna tell you that possibly on your Hungarian side you had some Middle Eastern ancestry deep down, or who knows, maybe it comes from your British side, who were world travelers.

it shows those ones look a like to some little to none armenoid looking armenians(west armenians?) that i'm aware of.

I just know that Armenians often cluster to these.
If you get those at top of your list I would imagine you have some Armenian ancestry.

I deleted the Pontic populations(greek caucasus, greek Trabzon, turkish east black sea, and Laz) from the source in vahaduo. to separate the Armenian admixture from the Kartvelian. Those source populations are also Armenian mixed with Kartvelian so I cluster close to them and get a mixture of Pontic and Laz.

using the same method for your wife with Georgian_jewish(Assyrian mixed with Caucasus population group) also removed she gets this as a result.

The Ancestry results match up well with my known ancestry, in fact it's amazingly close. I should be mostly southwest English with some German, mostly Southern and Eastern Germans that settled appalachia from my dads mom, with a minority of my ancestry being assorted Europeans from western Europe with a southern shift. The FTDNA results also match up fairly well, well enough that I can at least see the regions I'd expect making up more or less of what they should. South_Dutch could be a proxy for Germanic DNA mixed with other europeans. Now, here are my updated results. No familiar regions, which I guess can be attributed to centuries of back and forth mixing between many different German and British populations, but it's useless from a practical perspective, tells me nothing about my ancestry.

Does the Southwest_Finnish average consist of actual Southwestern Finns, or does it just include some of the most western-shifted Finnish samples? It seems way too western.

This likely proves that the Siberian admixture plays a big role in our results. Not alone of course, but in case results are in other aspects similar. Another difference comes from the deep genetic trench in Latvia and Lithuania. Geneticist should start to section genetic ancestry, locate sections and compose the ancestry by weighting those section to avoid wide genome admixture errors.
