I wanted to create a thread to showcase some Nordic folk music, as well as reconstructionist and neo-pagan music from the region. Feel free to post
examples of your own.

First off, some traditional Norwegian folk songs performed by Bukkene Bruse.

The culture of the people living in Northern Europe/Baltic sea region is more or less similar, thus I will introduce you to the Latvian folk/pagan-metal band "Skyforger", even though Latvians are not considered Nordic.

I was into this music a while ago, but I found it too dreary and serious after aw hile. However, Valravn's version of Krummi is very cool.

Finnish pagan music:

Suurin really means here “Wolf”. The text is a documented old rite from North Finland.

Suurin

Mie suusi suurin
Suveks syömää
Muut lampaaks lautsan alle
Mie suusi suurin
Mie karhu kankahalla
Miun veret pieälimmäisinä
Mie suusi suurin
Suveks syömään
Muut lauhtuoh lampahaksi
Minä sudeksi
Muut lampahiksi
Mie suusi suurin

PS: Do not try to google / translate that, just it is even more hard to understand than some Kalevala time Finnish ''poem language'' (just as lots of text/meanings bases on very old words and very old metaphors).

1) She sings that she has something very big in her mouth...I'm embarrassed to ask a question. What exactly is big in her mouth? 2)Husky is a Russian breed of dog.
