Here, we present a low-coverage genome of an eleventh century CE man buried in an Islamic necropolis in Segorbe, near Valencia, Spain. Uniparental lineages indicate North African ancestry, but at the autosomal level he displays a mosaic of North African and European-like ancestries, distinct from any present-day population. Altogether, the genome-wide evidence, stable isotope results and the age of the burial indicate that his ancestry was ultimately a result of admixture between recently arrived Amazigh people (Berbers) and the population inhabiting the Peninsula prior to the Islamic conquest.

We investigated the autosomal ancestry of our ancient individual by calling ~ 74,200 autosomal SNPs (~ 72,300 when using a different approach to deal with post-mortem damage (Supplementary Table S2)). The PCA (Fig. 3a; Supplementary Fig. S9) shows that UE2298/MS060 occupies an intermediate position between present-day and ancient North African and Iberian populations in PC1, close to other Iberian Islamic individuals.

As an Andalusian, I am not interested in that historical period.

No something like this :

Target: Iberia_Southeast_c.10-16CE:I7457
Distance: 2.6253% / 0.02625341
55.0 Anatolia_Barcin_N
23.8 Yamnaya_RUS_Samara

6.2 WHG
1.2 Yoruba

and yes probably bad coverage for some of them

Not really, they all had important amount of north african ancestry :

No. During the Early Middle Ages people were tall, then height declined during the Late Middle Ages and Early Modern Era, then increased again in the 19th century and later.

Changes in height were cyclical. He would be a giant if he lived in the 1400s or 1500s.

Semi off-topic but do we have results of the ruling family members of Al Andalus ? (Omayyade, Almoravide, Almohade, ...) ?

No, but if their genealogies are correct, then they would be some kind of J-FGC11 (Umayyad and Abbasid, I can't comment on those other Maghrebi states as i dont know the origin of their monarch). Majority of North African Arab-descendants (Hilali and Sulaym tribes) fall into these 2 clades
