In the second younger photo he must have reminded you of baskid. The Vascones and many other tribes of Iberia must have had very similar faces, keep in mind that Iberians called many tribes that may have been the same with some differences in the combinations.

Looks thoroughly Spanish, while Brunn influence is notable he still has a narrow mid face and a convex nose, oiks in Yorkshire would shout "foreigner" from a car window as they drive pass him.
