Right, first of all I apologise if this question seems pretentious or obscure, I assure you I'm not just farting in the wind -- there's a real purpose behind it.
Okay, so what I'm asking is this: I need five pieces of "classical" music, preferably post-Wagner, late Romantic, post-Romantic era, that correspond in their mood/theme with the five stages of a tragedy: exposition, complication, climax, resolution and denouement.
For the last one, I'm thinking Richard Strauss' Metamorfosen. As for all the others, I've no idea. Any suggestions?
