Lee split his Army in a bold move, putting Stonewall in charge of one corps and sent to flank the Union forces. They marched all day under silence. With weapons unloaded to prevent accidental fire so as not to give away their location.

Liberal movie critics blasted the movie for its positive portrayal of the Confederate Army. They wanted more focus on slavery. The movie was only about the battles and not much else.
