I'm about a 50/50 Polentone Terrone mutt without counting the Chinese. My dad is 1/8th Montenegrin Serb, an 1/8th Trentinese, a quarter Swiss German and half Neapolitan. My mom is half Chinese and a quarter Sicilian and a quarter Romagnolo. Must have misread the results, IDK. I personally think it's because it misread the Montenegrin and the Swiss wrong since they already half North Italian like genetically.

I don't think so, it depends on the individual. Half Asians would normally look very Mongoloid.

I think, looking at the overall gist of your report, that it looks pretty good. I don't think any of the other major companies would do any better, most likely worse. Btw, if a parent tests on 23andMe, they then phase your results and re-run the algorithm, this often improves the accuracy. No other commercial company does that.

Yeah, it can be difficult to separate out those ancestries, with those are overlapping components, especially considering that they are distant. So I do think it is likely that some of your Swiss and Serbian is swallowed up into your Italian.

Also it could be that you did not inherit Swiss and Serbian exactly to match your paper trail, hard to say how much this plays into your result.

Post your G25 coordinates. If you do it correctly you should be able to break down the various Italian regions.

23andme’s Italian category includes everything from Piedmontese to Maltese and doesn’t break it down. Also, I’m part Swiss and some of that was counted as Italian on my 23andme.

This is very strange I think , your swiss side acounts for 12,5% but you are 2,5% Northwest europe , so that would mean your swiss German ancestor's snps were 80 % the same as that of Italians?I mean , so if he do one of these tests he could be up to 80% Italian.Maybe you just did not get much genes from this side for some reason, I have seen that it could happen.

This is actually unbelievably funny. I’m not mad at you specifically, but I had way more evidence than even just a haplogroup to suggest my Italian great grandpa was from an assimilated Jewish line (including G25 coordinates, GEDMatch, DNA matches, and ya know…even my Italian cousin saying he was a Jew) and everyone treated me like I was Trisha Paytas. Oh yeah, and a ton of my matches belonged to the J-L70 Levant match cluster. I couldn’t bitch about it on Anthrogenica because they censor everything but I’ll bitch about it here because I’m sure some of the weirdos who bullied me hang around here too.
